outdoor smoking would give people who go outdoors the freedom to breath more fresh air and be healthier. Nonsmokers are the majority, so more people gain freedom than lose freedom.

A lot of people seem to think that limits on freedom is repressive. However, yelling that there is a fire in a theater when there is not a fire is a valid limit on the freedom of speech. What other limits do you think are essential?

Freedom
alphabetsoup2 asked:

Contemporary conservatism, and more to the point, its pundits, upholds that just about any government regulation is somehow an affront to freedom.

Really though, when our nation was founded, no one could have predicted the scope, wealth, and power corporations would gain in America.

An individual, rarely, has the ability or wealth, to stand on principle against a corporation.

Is it not essential for the people, through acts by Congress, to seek justice, and planning for the greater good, through regulation?

What do you think?

Freedom
I wanna talk to Samson asked:

I read the article about the Colorodo University reporter saying F**K Bush in his article. He may now lose his job, but he is saying that his freedom of speech is being taken away. I have read many comments of people saying how this controversy is just another example of freedom of speech being eroded.

People need to understand that freedom of speech means that you won’t be arrested for saying what you want. Example, I have the freedom to tell my boss to F**K Off if I want. I wont get arrested, but I will get fired.

Freedom of speech does not mean freedom from consequences. What do you all think?
