How can Liberals claim to be the guarantors of freedom when everything they do is exactly the opposite?

They want to expand Government, which in and of itself takes away freedom from individuals. Everything the government mandates is done under a threat of JAIL and FINES. Where as if a person chooses not to use the services of a private sector entity, it is simply “ok have a nice day”. Too much government leads to tyranny, oppression and loss of individual choice yet Liberals just can’t get enough of it.
