Sunday, July 5th, 2009Recently there was a ruling from the high court in the USA that would allow corporations unlimited freedom at contributing to a political candidate. I have read many angry citizens and few individuals in support of the high court’s ruling.
What is you opinion about the high court allowing companies unlimited freedom to contribute as much as they want to a political candidate?

Sunday, September 28th, 2008What forms of media portray the theme of freedom in society?
Tuesday, September 23rd, 2008How is limiting the scope and power of a corporation limiting freedom of the individual?
Monday, August 11th, 2008Contemporary conservatism, and more to the point, its pundits, upholds that just about any government regulation is somehow an affront to freedom.
Really though, when our nation was founded, no one could have predicted the scope, wealth, and power corporations would gain in America.
An individual, rarely, has the ability or wealth, to stand on principle against a corporation.
Is it not essential for the people, through acts by Congress, to seek justice, and planning for the greater good, through regulation?
What do you think?

Thursday, July 17th, 2008Free to travel, free to pick the people in our lives…We usuallythink of Freedom as a very positive trait, but according to the existentialists it is a negative as it is a positive. It is a dreadful freedom, imposing a heavy burden of responsibility on us??Does Freedom cause deep anxiety in us???Do we shape our essence in freedom? Is freedom our essence?

What is the difference between “freedom from.” and “freedom to.”?
Tuesday, June 24th, 2008What is the difference between “freedom from…” and “freedom to…”?
As in: “We were given freedom from oppression” and “They weren’t bestowed with the freedom to express themselves.”
I think I came across this while reading “The Handmaid’s Tale” by Margaret Atwood. It’s a novel about life in a false-utopian dictatorship-like society. Actually, more like a totalitarian society. It’s about how every person in society has a role such as “the handmaid”, “the wife”, “the Marthas”, “the Commander”, “the Econowives” etc. The main character, Offred eventually learns of the dystopia in the society she lives in and secretly plans a revolution. It’s a pretty good book really.
